2024 DEMO REEL

LEUPOLD & STEVENS (2021-PRESENT)

Steel Cut productions DEMO reel

  • -Role: director/producer/co-cinematographer/editoR

    - THIS IS my favorite piece in my portfolio, mainly because it is a culmination of so many years of hard work and dedication to growing steel cut productions from the ground up. Working with athletes like Von Miller (NFL), Lou Williams (NBA), and Jordan Bell (NBA), to securing a contract with Ventura County Coast to produce media content for all hotel properties, to shooting luxury real estate up and down the coast, and everything in between. these were invaluable years for me professionally, and gave me the confidence and experience to both lead a team, as well as produce high-end video content for clients.

Odd sox x von miller

  • -Role: director/producer/CO-editor

    - One of my favorite shoots, ever! producing this early on in steel cut's existence, i was quite nervous working with the super bowl mvp, not just because he was such a huge name in the nfl, but we also had a lot on the line as a "new" production company. There was a palpable feeling of "we better not mess this up." Taking a quick break from 'dancing with the stars', Von agreed to meet us for 2-3 hours for the shoot. In that short window, we were able to produce a series of 6 videos, as well as photo content for odd sox. It was an early test for our company, and I am very proud of what we accomplished.

Horns of the High Desert - (Leupold’s #3 YouTube film) 132k views

  • -Role: editor

-While My main credit on this film is 'editor', I also shot all non-hunting footage (Interview and pre-hunt sequence). What I love most about this film is the emotional impact we see from Tim towards the end of the film. Seeing firsthand how seriously he was taking his training, and knowing he had put in for this tag his entire life made me root for him in a big way, and I think that resonates throughout the film. For me, it separates itself from a traditional hunt documentary with its narrative style, cutting in and out of post-hunt interview clips as he recounts the adventure. This film premiered at the PNW Sportmen's show.

schatzii bullet 2.0

  • -Role: director/producer/editor

    - We created a suite of videos for Schatzii on this project, this being the long-format 90-second video featuring all three subjects. Being a very new company, Schatzii did not have much of a budget for this production, but I feel I produced the highest level of value in location, talent, wardrobe, and amount of deliverables I was able to execute.

Ventura Beach Marriott

  • -Role: Director/producer/co-cinematographer/editor

    - Securing Ventura County Coast as a client was one of my biggest successes at Steel Cut. With VCC, we created marketing content with the Dallas Cowboys training camp, photo shoots for magazine publication, broadcast commercial spots, as well as exclusive rights to market all hotels in the county. This Marriott is one of the top hotels in the region, and was so fun to shoot. We worked with the client to develop the "white space" aesthetic; dividers, split screen, different borders, etc., to convey a pristine, clean feel. Videos such as this would play in hotel lobbies, rooms, and was also used for marketing on VCC's website.

The olive press

  • -Role: director/producer/co-cinematographer/editor

    - The Olive Press is owned br Fred and Nancy Cline, who also own and operate Cline Cellars, and Jazuzzi Vineyards. I secured many contracts with them over the years at Steel Cut, producing videos for all of their businesses. I love the passion that comes through in my interview with Nancy, as well as the b-roll coverage of the landscapes and olive-milling process

jordan bell x schatzii

  • -Role: director/producer

    - Schatzii was such a fun brand to work with. working hand-in-hand with the CEO, I produced a shoot with (Then) golden state warrior Jordan pool to execute a series of videos and photo content, all in a two-hour span. If you're ever able to secure a professional athlete, be ready for a time crunch! Both this shoot, as well as my video with Von Miller for Odd Sox, truly tested our talents and timeliness to execute. What usually would have been a 10-hour shoot was condensed into a 2-hour shoot, but I came prepared and with the right crew we were able to produce a package of epic photo and video content Schatzii used for their marketing campaign.

Crowne Plaza Ventura beach

  • -Role: Director/producer/co-cinematographer

    - Securing Ventura County Coast as a client was one of my biggest successes at Steel Cut. With VCC, we created marketing content with the Dallas Cowboys training camp, photo shoots for magazine publication, broadcast commercial spots, as well as exclusive rights to market all hotels in the county. This hotel in particular was one of my favorites, as it is considered an iconic property in the region (featured in movies like Little Miss Sunshine and The Two Jakes). Videos such as this would play in hotel lobbies, rooms, and was also used for marketing on VCC's website.

Behind the core: Emily perriera - 21k Views

  • -Role: editor

    - "Behind the Core" is a Leupold Series which showcases the drive and passion of brand ambassadors. While I wish i could claim I was able to go to hawaii to shoot this piece, I was still grateful for the opportunity to edit. Emily has an empowering story of resilience and strong family values which make for a compelling watch.

Closing the gap - 65k views

  • -Role: director/co-cinematographer/editor

    - When I first started at leupold, creating video content for our precision rifle series events was not heard of, but badly needed. These shooters represent a niche demographic of our consumer base, and it is a large one that continues to grow. 'Closing the gap' was my second doc-style video showcasing the gap grind, the world's largest precision rifle match in the world.

  • -Role: director/cinematographer/editor

    - When I first started at leupold, creating video content for our precision rifle series events was not heard of, but badly needed. The shooters represent a niche demographic of our consumer base, and it is a large one that continues to grow. 'Impact' was my first time experiencing a prs match, much less creating a doc-style video on one. The high winds and elevation, extreme heat, and first-time experience with the event made for a challenging shoot, but in the end I felt I captured a piece that embodied the brand's message: "Be relentless".

STEEL CUT PRODUCTIONS (2015-2020)

Behind the core: Fred eichler - 26k views

  • -Role: director/cinematographer/editor

    - "Behind the Core" is a Leupold Series which showcases the drive and passion of brand ambassadors. Fred Eichler was the first person in history to complete the "North American Super Slam" (all 29 big game species with a recurve bow). I wanted to dig deeper and get to know more about fred, and tell the story of the person, not just the accomplished hunter many in the field already knew and respected. I love this style of video because we get in an-depth look at Fred and what makes him tick, and nothing beats an interesting character we want to go on a journey with.

ventura county coast tourism summit intro

  • -Role: director/producer/co-cinematographer/editor

    - Securing Ventura County Coast as a client was one of my biggest successes at Steel Cut. With VCC, we created marketing content with the Dallas Cowboys training camp, photo shoots for magazine publication, broadcast commercial spots, as well as exclusive rights to market all hotels in the county. This video was created for internal use to begin the annual summit event hosted by VCC, where hundreds attend from all over the nation. Serving as a "hype piece", it is a compilation of footage we shot for various campaigns with the company.

ODD SOX x LOU WILLIAMS

  • -Role: director/producer/co-editor

    - The "6 Man" himself! Lou Williams was the inspiration for Drake's track '6 Man' in 2015. This was one of the first shoots I secured with Odd Sox, and the results opened the doors for us to get the Von Miller contract. Lou Wills had such a cool, easy, and humble vibe to him. I wanted that to come through in this video, in particular utilizing my interview with him, which I think he fully embodies in the line "I'm not a superstar, I'm not one of the household names, but I'm probably your favorite basketball player's favorite basketball player."

THE DESCENT - (Leupold’s #1 YouTube film) 274k views

  • -Role: Director, cinematographer, editor

-this production was, without a doubt, the most challenging and rewarding shoot i've ever been on. coming from a world of commercial-style production, being tasked with shooting and editing a hunt film was something very new for me. camping in a blizzard for a week at 8,000-10,000 feet of elevation, trekking up and down icy canyon walls with camera gear, all while trying to capture a cinematic documentary film, pushed me both mentally and physically more than any other shoot i have been a part of. This film debuted at the PNW Sportsmen's Show, and quickly became leupold's #1 film on YouTube, amassing over 262,000 views.

81307 Amundsen Avenue 388k views

  • -Role: co-cinematographer

    - Steel cut was contracted to shoot many luxury real estate properties with the stanfield group. This was, and still is, the most expensive and largest property I have ever shot. to capture all of the different time lapses, golf sequence, Phantom-cam slomo shots, and all the necessary coverage in the interior and exterior of the home, we needed three days to shoot all the footage.

    - Steel cut was contracted to shoot many luxury real estate properties with the stanfield group. This house was full of smart features that made for a killer video. Bookended with b-roll of Huntington beach, I really liked how this one turned out. (86k views)
